Community Outreach Events

There are few opportunities in our community for families with elementary school children to volunteer. Good Cents for Oakland’s City-wide Service Days are family volunteer days and opportunities to inform children about issues affecting our city.

Good Cents for Oakland teams up with Project Outreach/East Oakland Food Pantry to feed 1,000 people

When Montclair Elementary School made their 2009 Penny Roundup Grant to Project Outreach/East Oakland Food Pantry, the students never imagined that they could help feed 1000 hungry families in Oakland. On May 30th, Montclair Elementary School families teamed up with Markham Elementary School families to help Good Cents and Project Outreach fill 1000 bags with 10 pounds of food.
