Founder and Executive Director
Dagmar Serota serves, without compensation, as President and Executive Director of Good Cents for Oakland. She has lived in the City of Oakland since 1988. After 18 years working in the financial services industry in the areas of finance, administration and strategy, she decided to focus her energy on non-profit work. She was awarded the Alameda County Food Bank's Hope not Hunger Award in September 2007 and the AT&T Community Spotlight Award in March 2008 for her work with Good Cents for Oakland.
Dagmar's non-profit work experience complements her business experience. She is a former director of East Bay Habitat for Humanity and served as President of her son's school Parent Association, overseeing all fundraising efforts and dramatically expanding the organization's community outreach efforts. Interested in building community in her own neighborhood, Dagmar also founded her neighborhood Home Alert group to provide neighbors with a communication network to address crime in the neighborhood. She is an active at her son's school.
Dagmar graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics from New York University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business.

Lisa Edgar, Treasurer, serves as Treasurer of two other non-profit organizations in her community. Lisa is a Principal with Paul Capital Partners, an asset management firm in San Francisco that specializes in private equity investments and has worked in the private equity business for 15 years. Lisa graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied economics from the University of San Francisco and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business.

Tiffany Welch Klein, Development Director, is an attorney who specializes in civil defense litigation with expertise in the areas of product liability, professional liability and personal injury/tort defense. She also serves on the PTA Executive Board at Joaquin Miller Elementary School and participates in a wide range of volunteer activities with Joaquin Miller Elementary School. Tiffany graduated wiht a bachelor's degree in political science from San Francisco State University and a law degree from Santa Clara University in 1992.
Andrea Muchin, Curriculum Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator, is a former teacher with two elementary school-aged children. Having taught second, third and fourth grades in both Los Angeles and Basel, Switzerland, Andrea has put her extensive classroom experience to work in designing the curriculum for the Penny Roundup Program. She also serves on the PTA Executive Board at Joaquin Miller Elementary School and is a very active parent volunteer. Andrea received her bachelor's degree in English from UCLA and a teaching credential from CSU Northridge.
Gilbert Serota, Secretary, currently serves as an Executive Board Member and Chair of the Anti-Defamation League's Central Pacific Region's Development Committee. Gilbert is a past Board Chair of the region and a member of the ADL's National Commission. Gilbert is an attorney and partner with Howard, Rice Nemerovski, Canady, Falk and Rabkin in San Francisco where he specializes in securities, real estate and employment litigation. Gilbert graduated with a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a law degree from Columbia University.
